Ideas for a Unique Baby Shower Gift

Hot Tip! It is good if the cake will have a transparent cellophane cover – this is always advisable when the baby shower will involve too many guests because there is the danger of people manhandling it and hence, it may be spoiled by the time the mother-to-be will get to it. Hence, it will be better to have the whole cake covered into a truly beautiful white cellophane so that small kids would be bother it.

There are few things in life that can match the amazing miracle of birth. It is a process made even more exciting when someone you care about is pregnant. As her due date gets closer, chances are good that you will be asked to attend a baby shower. This gives family and friends an opportunity to celebrate the impending arrival by giving the expectant mother gifts. How can you choose the perfect gift for such an occasion? In this article, we’ll give you some can’t-miss ideas for a unique baby shower gift that will please both mother and child.

Hot Tip! Plan the food. This is one of the most (if not the most important) aspects of a Couples baby shower that you can plan.

It is helpful (but not necessary) if you know the sex and name of the baby. Obviously, if your loved one has chosen to keep these details secret until the due date, then you will have no way of knowing this. However, if she has revealed the sex and name of the baby, you will be able to make the gift even more original. Where is the best place to start looking? Ask the mother-to-be if she has registered with any retailers or online merchants.

A registry is set up to make gift-giving a breeze. Here’s how it works: The mother-to-be goes online or into a store that carries many different baby items. She then fills out a list of the things that she would like for the baby and it is made available for friends and family to see. This makes shopping so simple; as you already know that the expectant mother will absolutely love anything off the registry list. O.K., but how can you add your own unique twist on something she has already chosen?

Hot Tip! The most critical point to ensuring your baby shower is a success is knowing what not to do. Etiquette absolutely needs to come first.

There are a few ways you can do this. First, you can have the item or items personalized with the name of the baby. Most stores offer services where this is possible. If this doesn’t appeal to you, you can also choose something from the registry that is fun for the baby, such as a play area or jumper. Most people tend to buy the baby clothes and necessities (bottles, bibs, etc.), so your gift will definitely be a unique change of pace.

If you are the creative sort, you can also make something by hand for the baby shower. You could knit the baby a blanket or outfit, which will surely represent a special and heartfelt alternative to store-bought merchandise.

For one last idea, you could get the mother something that she can use on herself. Think about it; after nine months of worrying about only the baby, she definitely deserves to be pampered. A gift certificate for a day at the spa (facial, massage, etc.) is a terrific way to remind Mommy that she also needs to be taken care of. It will also stand out among a sea of baby items as a truly unique gift.

Hot Tip! One-piece t-shirts rule!!! Your friends will thank you if you buy a practical baby shower gift like these. These one-pieces are like a t-shirt but button down at the crotch for fast and easy diaper changes.

These are just a few ideas for a unique baby shower gift that you can consider. The most important thing is to just be there for your loved one as she goes through this incredible journey. It is friends and family like you that make the process all the more enjoyable.

Baby Shower Gift To Celebrate A New Baby

Hot Tip! Discount Stores – Although not as pricey as the local party stores, the baby shower decorations you find at these stores may be limited. The big chain discount stores are trying to be something for everyone, which means they can’t carry everything.

A baby shower can be had when baby is born- it doesn’t have to be held when mom is pregnant, its not the hard and fast rule. So for a baby shower that is when baby has come it can be a lot of fun to give something really personal for baby.

I found a great website for a baby shower gift for mom to celebrate baby. Its a personalised baby candle. These are so beautiful for a baby shower gift because they speak to the heart rather than the head. There is a website you can go to called www.wicksend.com.au and they make baby candles and you can use this gift for a baby shower. Here is a photo from their website. And here is what they say about baby candles:

Hot Tip! The most critical point to ensuring your baby shower is a success is knowing what not to do. Etiquette absolutely needs to come first.

“For a personalised touch on the birth or your baby. Our candle is designed with baby’s name, date of birth and digital photographical image supplied on the front. The back containing a poem or prayer and small image as selected. Complete with satin ribbon around the base, this candle makes an ideal gift or a keepsake for the occasion. You will need to fill in the order form and fax or email your requirements along with the digital photo of the child. Below are a selection of verses/poems that you may wish to have on your candle or provide your own. In addition, select your ribbon colour and other image/s if required. Click on the links below.”

Now this doesn’t mean you can’t give it to mom for her baby shower just because the website is telling you its for “your” baby. You can get a photo of baby and then make your order.

I thought this was a great idea for a baby shower gift.

Best wishes,

Baby Shower Gift - The Personalised Touch

Hot Tip! Keep it personal. If your baby shower needs are not large, then a simple get together will work perfectly.

When trying to decide on something to give mom as a baby shower gift is easy to come up with one hundred things you would like, but trying to find something for her is an entirely different thing. After all it’s a baby shower gift for her. You might see a lot of differences between you such as culture, religion, etc.

If this is the case and you are struggling then here are some suggestions for a really good baby shower gift.

Hot Tip! Belly Cake. One great idea is to design a baby shower cake and make it look like a pregnant belly.

The practical baby shower gift: A practical baby shower gift is one that can be used on a daily basis that helps mom look after baby, or, herself. One thing that all of us need is to be able to tell the time. What better practical baby shower gift can you give that a gorgeous clock? And being in the theme of a baby shower, you can get some very cute baby nursery clocks online for about $60.

Www.babydilly.com is a fantastic site for beautiful baby shower gifts, practical and other wise. This picture is an example of what I mean. (See blog) This is a handmade and hand painted clock, so a lot of care has gone into making it. It’s about 4 inches by 6 inches by 10 inches.

The personal baby shower gift: This type of baby shower gift is ideal if you know mom pretty well. And one thing mom will appreciate more than anything is to feel physical comfortable and relaxed if she’s pregnant. Anything to help her relax, well, she’s probably dying for. And you never know, everyone else may have thought about baby things, but not gifts for mom personally.

Hot Tip! What you serve at the baby shower will be determined by the time of day the function is held. A lunch or dinner time affair will require you to serve a proper, sit-down meal.

If you can find anything you like, then why not make her a “Pamper Pack.” Purchase a small coloured box from any gift store. Then place some tissue paper in the bottom of it. (This box can be about 15 “x15″ or along a similar sizing. Pick the products first, read on…) Then, purchase a small bottle of foot balm she can sock her feet in. Then add to the personalised pack a packet of bath salts- preferable lightly scented. Next add some moisturiser, some hand lotion and then you can finish off with some dried rose petals to scent the gift box. You should be able to do all this for under $50. (Take a look at http://www.giftbaskets.co.nz/ for ideas on how you can create this beautiful baby shower gift.)

Hot Tip! Use a lot of resources when looking for the best baby shower favors.

The personalised baby shower gift: The difference between “personal” and “personalised” is that one is a little gimmicky (yet fun) and the other is to do with luxury! (Generally.) For a fun personalised baby shower gift how about a personalised card with a personalised gift such as a chocolate bar? “A what?” I hear you saying.

Yes personalised chocolate bar! There is a company online (http://www.nameitgifts.co.uk) that sells chocolate and they can personalise the wrapper for you- with anything. Its a perfect baby shower gift! Its original, individual and mom will certainly think of you as going out of her way to be creative for her.

And really, who else is going to think of a baby shower gift like that? It will be very appreciated for all those things ;originality, individuality, creativity. Take a look at the pictures below, they are from their website.

Good luck!

Simple Baby Shower Menu

Hot Tip! Consider the baby shower favors that are already tried and tested by a lot of baby shower parties.

Creating a menu for a baby shower can seem like an overwhelming task. Especially if you are not a great cook, don’t host a lot of parties, or just have no idea what your guests will like. Don’t worry help is here; below I have put together a very quick and simple baby shower menu that anyone can put together.

This menu is good for an afternoon party. It is comprised manly of finger foods and includes dessert and punch.

It is best to have your foods set out buffet style and allow your guests to serve themselves. This also makes it easier for you because you can focus on your guests instead of the food.

Host The Perfect Baby Shower. Everything you need to host the most ‘talked about’ baby shower ever. The package includes games, invites, and lots more.

Main Dishes:

Mini sandwiches - set out a platter of cold cuts and cheeses and a basket of silver dollar rolls. Also set out a dish of mustard and mayonnaise. Allow your guests to assemble their own sandwiches, which mean less work for you!

Crudities - crudities is simply a fancy word for raw veggies. Put out mini carrots, celery sticks, broccoli and cauliflower florets and cucumber slices. You can cut the veggies yourself, or buy them pre-cut. This is where you can let your creativity shine through. Serve with pre-made veggie dip for a healthy side dish.

Fruit Platter - this is where you can add a real variety of color to your table. Serve any combination of precut melons, orange slices and strawberries. Serve plain, or with a pre-made cream cheese fruit dip.

Spinach Dip - buy pre-made spinach dip from the freezer section of your grocery store. Heat and serve with crusty French bread, crackers, or tortilla chips.

Hot Tip! Diapers – while not glamorous, diapers are the most practical of the baby shower gifts. Start buying #1s for the new mom, as babies tend to grow out of the newborn size in a very short time.

Mini Quiche - buy frozen mini quiche from your grocery store, heat and serve.

Dessert:

Sheet cake - buy a sheet cake from your local bakery. Have it decorated with a message and flowers in the color scheme of your party.

Mini Cookies - buy store bought mini cookies and serve on a platter next to your cake.

Mints and Nuts - set out bowls of after dinner mints and nuts to go with your cake.

Punch:

Easy fruit punch - set a half gallon of softened fruit sorbet in a punch bowl. Pour two, two-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda over sorbet and serve.

This is a very simple baby shower menu that anyone can put together at anytime! If you would like more information on planning the perfect baby shower visit http://www.we-review-for-you.com/rbabyshower.html

Hot Tip! Local Party Supply Stores – This is the most expensive of the options, but probably the best stocked to handle your needs. This is the place where you will be able to get balloons and balloon weights, as well as all the baby shower decorations and paper goods.

Homemade Baby Shower Favor

Hot Tip! Buy something for moms too. True, baby showers are for the babies.

Give great gifts! Homemade baby shower favors can add a very nice touch to your baby shower. By making your favors, you can customize them to the theme of your party, and to your guest of honor. There are a number of different things that you can do.

My favorite homemade baby shower favor is very simple, and serves to help a local charity. It is simply a small baby bottle that you fill with candy and a tag. On the tag, ask your guests to empty the candy and then fill the bottle with spare change and dollar bills. On the tag include the address to a local woman’s shelter or pregnancy crises center and ask your guests to donate the money that they collect to that charity.

Hot Tip! If there were a budget, it would be better not to use free baby shower games.

You will only need a few supplies, and an afternoon to create these simple, meaningful homemade baby shower favors.

The first thing that you need to do is gather your supplies. You will need a baby bottle for each guest, some candies (I usually use after dinner mints) and some cardstock and ribbon.

Print up the directions and the charity information on the cards. I use my computer for this, but if you have nice handwriting, you can make it look very pretty and personable. I put the directions on one side of the card and then the address of the shelter on the other side. This keeps the card at a nice size.

Hot Tip! Consider the baby shower favors that are already tried and tested by a lot of baby shower parties.

Then, all you have to do is fill your bottles and tie the cards to the bottles with your ribbon and you have a great homemade baby shower favor.

This is by far the easiest, and most meaningful homemade baby shower favor you can make! If you would like more information on planning the perfect baby shower visit http://www.we-review-for-you.com/rbabyshower.html
